Planning halal catering for a school event, graduation, or prom in Scarborough? Blessed Kitchen provides professional certified halal food for school and graduation celebrations.

Halal Catering for School Events and Graduations in Scarborough

Scarborough's schools are among the most diverse in Canada — and school events, graduations, and end-of-year celebrations need to reflect that diversity. Providing certified halal food at school events ensures that Muslim students and their families can fully participate in the celebration.

Blessed Kitchen provides professional halal catering for school events, graduation parties, and educational institution celebrations throughout Scarborough and the GTA.

Types of School Events We Cater

Graduation Parties

High school and university graduation parties are milestone events. Whether it's an intimate family celebration for 20 people or a large class graduation party for 200+, we scale our catering to fit.

End-of-Year School Celebrations

Many Scarborough schools organize end-of-year celebrations that include food service. Halal options are increasingly expected given the community demographics.

School Fundraisers

Halal food fundraisers at school events are popular in Muslim-majority school communities. Blessed Kitchen can provide bulk food for fundraising events.

University and College Events

Muslim student associations (MSAs) at Toronto-area universities frequently organize large halal events. We cater for MSA events at colleges and universities across the GTA.

FAQ

Can you provide individual box meals for graduation events?

Yes — individual portioned box meals are available for graduation events where individual service is preferred over buffet.

Working with school food rules

Many Ontario schools have allergy-aware policies, and nuts are the usual concern. Some of our combos include the green-pea cashew curry, which contains cashews. If your school is nut-aware, choose a combo without it, such as Chicken Biryani Combo 1 (quoted for your event), with chicken biryani, eggplant mojo, egg masala and acharu. Also note that egg masala contains egg, yogurt sambal contains dairy and maasi sambal contains dried Maldives fish. We do not certify any menu as allergen-free, so share your list with us and let your school's own policy decide.

Budgeting a graduation lunch for 120

A student association planning for 120 people might split the order:

  • 100 x Chicken Biryani Combo 1 at quoted for your event
  • 20 x Vegetable Biryani Combo at quoted for your event

is confirmed in your event quote, a little over roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount). Combos are per person with a 20-person minimum.

Heat levels for younger students

Biryani is aromatic rather than hot and suits most kids. Devilled dishes and maasi sambal are spicy. For a younger crowd, keep sambals on the side.

Drop-off at a school

Catering is drop-off or pickup only, with no servers. Tell us which door to use, who will sign for the food, and whether it goes to the gym or the cafeteria. Plan for staff or parent volunteers to serve.

Questions from teachers and parent councils

Can we get individual portions instead of trays?

Yes. Individual boxed lunches are available. Ask for a quote with your count.

Can you send halal paperwork for the principal?

Yes. Our chicken, beef and lamb are HMA-certified halal, with documentation on request.

How early should we order for June graduations?

As soon as you have a rough headcount. June weekends fill up with graduations and weddings across the GTA, and an early booking you adjust later is easier than a last-minute one.
