Biryani Catering in Toronto

Large-batch chicken, mutton or lamb biryani for events. Feeds a crowd from one tray.

Biryani catering pot at Blessed Kitchen

Biryani is one of the best dishes to cater. It feeds a lot of people from one tray, it holds heat well, and almost everyone likes it. For gatherings across Toronto we make large-batch biryani in chicken, mutton or lamb, cooked the same way as our regular plates: basmati layered with marinated, spiced meat and steamed together.

Good for groups

Whether it is a family event, a work lunch or a community gathering, biryani scales cleanly. We portion it for your headcount and send raita to go with it. Add a curry or a dessert like watalappan to round out the spread.

How catering works

Biryani is a safe, popular choice for feeding a big group. We are a weekend kitchen, so we cater by preparing your order fresh and having it ready for pickup, or delivering it within our range. We do not staff events on site; we send the food, packed and ready to serve.

Biryani for a Toronto crowd

Biryani is the safest catering choice there is: it travels, holds heat for hours and portions cleanly from a tray. Ours is Northern Sri Lankan style and comes with sides that most Toronto caterers do not make: eggplant moju, pineapple curry, maasi sambal, acharu and yogurt sambal.

  • Vegetable Biryani Combo, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount)
  • Chicken Biryani Combo 1, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount)
  • Chicken Biryani Combo 2, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount)
  • Beef Biryani Combo, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount)
  • Mutton Biryani Combo, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount)
  • String Hopper Biryani Combo, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount)
  • Lamb biryani, call to order

Combos have a 20 person minimum. Ask about our catering trays for 5 to 30 people (small feeds 5 to 8, medium 10 to 15, large 20 to 30).

Delivery across Toronto

We deliver from 328 Passmore Ave in north Scarborough. Scarborough, North York and East York are quickest; downtown is about 35 to 45 minutes. For large events, call and we will plan the drop.

Allergy notes

Some of our dishes contain egg (kottu, egg masala, watalappan), dairy (yogurt sambal), fish (maasi sambal is made with dried Maldives fish) and nuts (green pea cashew curry). If anyone has an allergy, tell us when you order and we will tell you what to avoid.

Splitting one Toronto order across two combos

Most Toronto groups are mixed, so one combo rarely fits everyone. Each combo has its own 20 person minimum, which makes a split easy to price. For 60 guests with a handful of vegetarians, 40 x Chicken Biryani Combo 2 (quoted for your event) plus 20 x Vegetable Biryani Combo (quoted for your event) comes to $1,000 + $300 = confirmed in your event quote before tax and delivery.

Serving biryani from a tray

Spoon from the bottom of the tray, not just the top, so every plate gets meat and rice. Keep the lid on between rounds so the rice stays moist. For a condo party room or an office tower, book the service elevator and loading area ahead so the drop-off is quick.
