If you are searching for biryani near you in the GTA, we make ours fresh at our Scarborough kitchen. Biryani is long-grain basmati layered with marinated, spiced meat and steamed together so the rice takes on the flavour and colour of the curry. It is a filling plate and one of the easiest meals to feed a family with.

How we make it

We marinate the meat, cook it down in onion, tomato and whole spice, then layer it with par-cooked basmati and steam it all together. Served with raita. Available in chicken, mutton and lamb.

Pickup or delivery

We cook on weekends. Pick up from Scarborough or order Uber Eats delivery when you are in range. All HMA-certified halal.

How to get it

Pick your meat and we will have your biryani ready. We are a weekend kitchen, so pickup is from our Scarborough location on Saturday and Sunday, 12 to 5. If you are inside our Uber Eats delivery range, we can also drop it at your door.

Where we deliver biryani

We cook at 328 Passmore Ave in north Scarborough. Biryani delivery is quickest to Scarborough, Markham and North York, and reaches further across the GTA within our delivery range. Order direct for no app markup, or through Uber Eats.

Biriyani is $12 in chicken, beef, mutton or vegetable. Lamb biryani is available on request.

Allergy notes

Some of our dishes contain egg (kottu, egg masala, watalappan), dairy (yogurt sambal), fish (maasi sambal is made with dried Maldives fish) and nuts (green pea cashew curry). If anyone has an allergy, tell us when you order and we will tell you what to avoid.

Which biryani should you pick?

Our Biriyani is $12 and comes in four versions. They share the same Northern Sri Lankan spice base, but they eat differently:

• Chicken: the safest first order and the one most kids will eat. Lighter and quicker to finish.
• Beef: deeper and more savoury, good if you like a richer plate.
• Mutton: the richest of the four, with the strongest meat flavour. A common choice when guests are coming.
• Vegetable: for vegetarians, or as a second biryani on a table where one person does not eat meat.

How Sri Lankan biryani is eaten

In Sri Lanka biryani is rarely eaten on its own. It comes with small sides that cut through the richness: a sweet-sour eggplant moju, pineapple curry, acharu (pickle) and something cooling. That is why our catering combos include those sides. For a single order at home, adding a Chicken Devil ($12.99) gives you a hot, saucy partner to the rice.

Ordering for four at home

An easy family order: four Biriyani (final pricing depends on your menu and headcount) plus one Chicken Devil ($12.99) to share, for $60.99 before tax. Leftovers

Refrigerate leftover biryani within two hours. To reheat, sprinkle a spoon of water over the rice, cover, and heat until it is steaming all the way through. The water stops the grains drying out.
