Halal Wedding Catering in Richmond Hill — Feasts for the Big Day
Authentic halal Sri Lankan & Indian wedding catering delivered to Richmond Hill, roughly $20 to $30 per person (quoted on menu and headcount).
Turn RSVPs into an order
A Richmond Hill reception often brings together families from across York Region and beyond, and guessing how many will eat meat, how many are vegetarian and who has allergies leads to wasted trays or hungry guests. The easiest fix is to ask on the RSVP. Whether you use printed cards or an online form, add two lines:
- Meal choice: regular or vegetarian.
- Allergies or foods to avoid: free text.
When the replies come in, tally them in a simple spreadsheet. That tally becomes the order you send us. It also tells your serving crew who needs a special plate.
Reading our menu for allergens
We do not hold allergen-free certifications, so read each combo by its dishes. These are the common flags from our menu descriptions:
- Eggs: egg masala, kottu roti (served with an omelette), vattalappam.
- Fish: maasi sambal is made with dried Maldives fish (skipjack tuna).
- Cashews: green-pea cashew curry.
- Dairy: yogurt sambal and mango lassi.
If a guest's allergy is serious, call us before ordering and talk it through. Sending the list early is better than guessing at the buffet.
A 180-guest example with a vegetarian table
Suppose your tally shows 155 regular meals and 25 vegetarian.
- 155 guests on the Beef Biryani Combo at quoted for your event: $4,185. Beef biryani, whole chicken deep-fried, green-pea cashew curry, eggplant mojo, pineapple curry, maasi sambal, acharu and custard dessert.
- 25 guests on the Vegetable Biryani Combo at quoted for your event: $375. Vegetable biryani, eggplant mojo, pineapple curry, acharu and yogurt sambal.
- is confirmed in your event quote.
quotes each event based on menu and headcount with a 20-person minimum, and 25 vegetarians clears it. Notice the vegetarian combo has no maasi sambal, which keeps it fish-free. Our vegetable biryani page explains the dish in more detail.
A 300-guest version on the same Beef Biryani Combo would be final pricing depends on your menu and headcount before tax and delivery, before adding any vegetarian line.
Labels on the buffet
Because we deliver drop-off only and do not send servers, your guests will rely on what is written at the table. Small folded cards work well. Print the dish name and one short line under it, for example:
- Green-pea cashew curry: contains cashews.
- Maasi sambal: contains dried fish, spicy.
- Vegetable biryani: vegetarian.
- Custard dessert: sweet, mild.
Put the vegetarian line on its own table or at least its own end of the buffet, with its own serving spoons, so meat serving spoons do not wander into it.
When some replies never come back
Every wedding has guests who never return the card. Rather than leaving them out of the count, decide a rule in advance: for example, treat each missing reply as a regular meal and confirm the final number with us about a week out. Chase the stragglers by text two weeks before. A few extra regular plates are easier to manage than a guest whose dietary need was never recorded.
Plates for children and elders
Children under about ten often eat a small portion of rice, a piece of fried chicken and the dessert, and skip the sambals entirely. Older relatives may prefer the milder sides. If your RSVPs separate adults from children, tell us both numbers, and ask your serving crew to plate the first round for the head table and elders before opening the line.
Getting to Richmond Hill
Richmond Hill is about 22 km from our kitchen in north Scarborough, usually around 25 minutes via the 404 or the 407. That puts it in a comfortable range for a timed drop-off at a hall or a large home. Send the address and load-in window when you book.
All chicken, beef and lamb we use is HMA-certified halal, with documentation available on request. For other York Region events, see our Richmond Hill catering page, or call (647) 449-2924.
