Halal Corporate Catering in Markham — 2026
Halal Corporate Catering for Markham events. Halal Sri Lankan menus, pricing, lead times, and delivery from our Scarborough kitchen.
An office lunch for colleagues new to Sri Lankan food
Many Markham offices are mixed teams. Some colleagues grew up on rice and curry; others have never tried eggplant moju or maasi sambal. Ordering for a group like that is less about finding one dish everyone loves and more about building a spread where each person finds something familiar and something new. This post walks through how we would plan it for a Markham workplace, using real prices from our menu.
Why a 15-minute drive changes the planning
Our kitchen is at 328 Passmore Avenue in north Scarborough. Markham is the nearest corporate delivery we do: roughly 10 km, about 15 minutes by road, often via Steeles or a short stretch of the 404 or 407 depending on where in York Region your building sits. A short run means less time between our kitchen and your boardroom, and a drop-off window that is easier to pin down. It does not mean you can skip the basics. Lock the headcount, give us the serving time, and name the one person in the office who will meet the driver.
A heat guide for the colleague who asks "is it spicy?"
Sri Lankan food has a reputation for heat, but the menu covers a wide range. Going by our own dish descriptions:
- Mild: potato milk curry, which is simmered in coconut milk, and the green peas curry, described as mildly spicy.
- Sweet with some heat: pineapple curry and mango curry, plus eggplant moju with its sweet, sour and spicy marinade.
- Hot: dishes labelled devil, chilli chicken in its spicy garlic sauce, and maasi sambol, which mixes dried Maldives fish with chili, fried onion and lime.
If your combo includes maasi sambal, set it in a small bowl at the end of the line so people add it themselves. That one change keeps a cautious eater from getting a spoonful by accident.
A worked order for an 80-person all-hands
Quarterly meetings are where most Markham teams reach for catering. Here is one way to split 80 people:
- 60 people on Chicken Biryani Combo 2 at quoted for your event: $1,500. Chicken biryani, deep-fried chicken, pineapple curry, eggplant mojo, acharu, maasi sambal, green-pea cashew curry and a custard dessert.
- 20 people on the Vegetable Biryani Combo at quoted for your event: $300. Vegetable biryani with eggplant mojo, pineapple curry, acharu and yogurt sambal.
- is confirmed in your event quote.
quotes each event based on menu and headcount with a 20-person minimum, so both lines in this example clear it. If your vegetarian count is under 20, ask us about mixing combos, or add a small tray on the same quote.
Smaller teams: trays rather than combos
A project team of 12 doesn't need per-person combos. A medium tray feeds 10 to 15 and a small tray feeds 5 to 8, so a medium tray of chicken biryani alongside a small tray of a vegetable curry covers a modest celebration. Trays have no published price, so send the headcount and ask for a quote. For a meeting where people won't sit together, individual boxed lunches are another route, also quoted on request.
Labels that save the office manager twenty questions
Print a small card for every dish. It takes five minutes and heads off most questions at the table. Allergens worth flagging, taken from our menu descriptions:
- Egg masala contains eggs, as does the vattalappam coconut custard.
- Green-pea cashew curry contains cashews.
- Yogurt sambal and mango lassi contain dairy.
- Maasi sambal contains dried fish, which matters for anyone avoiding seafood.
Our chicken, beef and lamb are HMA-certified halal. If a colleague or HR wants to see the documentation, ask and we will provide it.
Where office lunches go wrong, and the simple fix
- The food arrives before the room is free. Book the room 15 minutes ahead of the meal so someone can lay out trays.
- Nobody knows who placed the order. Put one name and one cell number on it.
- Rice runs out before the curry. Put rice first in the line with a spoon sized for one portion.
- Leftovers sit out all afternoon. Refrigerate within two hours, or hand out containers so people take food home.
We drop off packed food that is ready to serve. We don't send servers, so decide in advance who on your team handles setup and cleanup.
What Markham teams ask before ordering
Can we get butter chicken for the office?
Yes. We make it, but it is not on the online menu, so call or text to order and ask for a quote.
Is there something for the one person who wants a plain plate?
Potato milk curry with rice is about as gentle as our menu gets. Add it on request.
How early should we book?
Earlier is always easier. Our guide on how far in advance to book catering covers the timing in more detail.
