Most combos have a 20 person minimum. Ask about our catering trays for 5 to 30 people (small feeds 5 to 8, medium 10 to 15, large 20 to 30).

Allergy notes

Some of our dishes contain egg (kottu, egg masala, watalappan), dairy (yogurt sambal), fish (maasi sambal is made with dried Maldives fish) and nuts (green pea cashew curry). If anyone has an allergy, tell us when you order and we will tell you what to avoid.

Samba, seeraga samba or saffron: the rice itself

The name of each combo tells you which rice you are getting, and it changes the texture of the plate.

• Seeraga samba is a small-grain, fragrant rice popular in Tamil and Sri Lankan Muslim cooking. The grains stay separate and soak up ghee well. It is the base of our Seeraga Samba Ghee Rice Combo (quoted for your event).
• Muthu samba is another short-grain samba rice, with round, pearl-like grains. Our Muthu Samba Ghee Rice Combo is quoted for your event.
• Saffron ghee rice is coloured and scented with saffron, a festive look for weddings. Saffron Ghee Rice Combo, quoted for your event.

Short-grain samba rice carries ghee and gravy differently from long-grain basmati. If your family grew up with ghee rice at weddings and kanduri feasts, the samba versions will taste most familiar.
