Halal Biryani Catering in Mississauga — 2026
Halal Biryani Catering for Mississauga events. Halal Sri Lankan menus, pricing, lead times, and delivery from our Scarborough kitchen.
Fifty kilometres west, in the middle of winter
From our kitchen in north Scarborough to Mississauga is roughly 50 km. On a clear day that is 45 to 55 minutes. In January, with snow on the 401 and everyone leaving work at the same time, it can be longer. None of that stops biryani from being a good choice for a Peel Region event. It does mean the planning has to be a bit more deliberate than for a party a few streets away.
This post is for anyone booking biryani for a Mississauga event in the colder months: a winter wedding reception, a community dinner, a family gathering over the holidays, or a long weekend when relatives fly in.
Book the date before you finalize the guest list
Long drives need a fixed slot in our schedule, and winter weekends fill up. Reserve the date as soon as you know it, with an estimated headcount, then confirm the final number closer to the event. Waiting until the RSVPs are perfect is the most common way people end up scrambling.
When you book, tell us three things in writing:
- The time you want guests eating, not the time the doors open.
- The exact entrance: loading door, side door, rear lot, or which unit in a townhouse complex.
- Two phone numbers for people who will be there to receive the food, in case one does not pick up.
A cold-weather receiving plan
Our catering is drop-off or pickup only. There are no servers and no cooking on site, so the moment the trays arrive, they become your team's job. In winter, that hand-off matters more.
- Shovel and salt the path from where the vehicle stops to the door.
- Prop the door or station someone at it, so trays are not set down on a cold step.
- Have chafing frames assembled, water in the pans and fuel lit before arrival.
- Move the trays straight from the door to the heat. Do not leave them stacked in a cold vestibule while people take coats.
- Keep lids on until the line opens.
Food arrives packed and ready to serve. Keeping it hot after that is about your setup, which is why the chafing dishes come first.
Beef or chicken for a big winter crowd
Two combos tend to make sense for a larger Mississauga event. Each is quotes each event based on menu and headcount with a 20-person minimum.
- Beef Biryani Combo, quoted for your event: beef biryani, whole chicken deep-fried, green-pea cashew curry, eggplant mojo, pineapple curry, maasi sambol, acharu and custard dessert. Hearty, with two proteins, which suits a cold evening.
- Chicken Biryani Combo 2, quoted for your event: chicken biryani with deep-fried chicken, pineapple curry, eggplant mojo, acharu, maasi sambol, green-pea cashew curry and custard dessert. A safer pick if some guests do not eat beef.
Both include the green-pea cashew curry, so flag cashews for anyone with a nut allergy. Both also come with maasi sambol, which is made with dried fish. If the event is a winter wedding where the menu should feel a step more formal, the Mutton Biryani Combo at quoted for your event is the other option to consider, with chicken chukka, yogurt sambal and ktull wattalapam.
Numbers for 150 guests
Say 110 guests eat meat and 40 are vegetarian. On the Beef Biryani Combo, final pricing depends on your menu and headcount. On the Vegetable Biryani Combo at quoted for your event, final pricing depends on your menu and headcount. Together, $3,570 before tax and delivery. Swap the beef group to Chicken Biryani Combo 2 and that part becomes final pricing depends on your menu and headcount for a total of $3,350.
After the meal: leftovers done safely
A big biryani order almost always leaves something behind, and many families send containers home with guests. A few general food-safety habits keep that safe:
- Keep hot food in the chafing dishes while it is being served, and do not leave anything sitting out at room temperature for more than two hours.
- Pack leftovers into shallow containers so they cool quickly, and refrigerate them within two hours.
- Cooked rice in particular should not be left out overnight, even in a cool hall.
- Reheat until steaming hot all the way through, and only reheat what you will eat.
Bring your own containers and a marker for labels. Hall kitchens rarely have enough, and a date on each lid helps relatives know when to finish them.
Before you book a Mississauga drop-off
How far ahead should I reserve?
As early as you can, especially for winter weekends and larger groups. Our guide on how far in advance to book goes into more detail.
Can I pick up instead to save the drive?
Pickup is available from our kitchen on Saturday and Sunday. For a large Mississauga order, compare both options in delivery vs pickup.
Where can I see other Mississauga options?
Our Mississauga catering page covers the full menu, or call (647) 449-2924.
